Description
A Model A Ford pickup truck prudently waits behind the crossbucks as car 123, one of Cincinnati & Lake Erie’s famed Red Devils, heels around a curve and, horn blaring, resumes momentum toward Dayton. The Cincinnati Car Company lightweight is one to be reckoned with, for on July 7, 1930, sister 126 hit a reported 97 mph in a publicity race with a biplane.
Hold it, Model A!
Doris and Dan –
Hello! We have had this print for some time. It is a delight as my husband ( our Sons and his Father) is a train enthusiast. The train was headed to Dayton (our home) and had a Model A Ford waiting at the crossing! We are also Model A enthusiasts and have several in our life. I just happened to “google” Gil Reid’s name today and it opened the world of the artist to us.! We a delighted to learn about Gil and his enjoyment of trains! Best wishes in the preservation of Gil’s art!
